01 · AI STRATEGY CONSULTING

What a chief AI officer does.

The job is to turn a company's interest in AI into two or three things that are actually running, and to stop everything else. Most of the value is in the stopping.

The pattern in almost every company I walk into is the same. Eleven subscriptions, three pilots nobody finished, one department quietly doing something excellent that nobody else knows about, and no view on which of it is worth keeping.

Somebody senior has to make that call, own the consequence, and get the survivors into production where they are used every day rather than demonstrated once.

02 · AI STRATEGY CONSULTANT

When you need a chief AI officer.

Three situations, and one of them is why you are reading this.

If none of them fits, do not hire a seat. Buy the one tool that solves the one problem and get on with your day.

Everybody is asking and nobody is deciding

Your team brings you AI ideas weekly, your competitors are making noise about it, and you have no basis for choosing. What is missing is not enthusiasm, it is somebody accountable for the pick.

You bought the tools and nothing changed

Licences are being paid for and the work looks the same as last year. That is an adoption and process problem, and no additional purchase fixes it.

A real process is the bottleneck

Intake, quoting, scheduling, document handling or follow-up is where the business jams, and everybody knows it. This is the case where the seat pays for itself fastest, because the target is already named.

03 · CHIEF AI OFFICER RESULTS

AI systems I built and run.

The proof for this seat is production software, so here is mine. A crawler that audits a whole site and scores it 0 to 100, an issue tracker that dates every finding and closes it when a later run stops seeing it, and a local lead system operating in the open.

All of it is live and in daily use, none of it is a demonstration, and every one of them was built the way I would build yours.

04 · HOW A CHIEF AI OFFICER WORKS

How I run the AI seat.

Three steps, and the first one is short because a company that spends a quarter assessing has already lost the quarter.

AI is the engine underneath the work rather than the pitch. It carries the volume so one senior person can assess the whole business, build the two things worth building, and still be in your leadership meeting. Every decision is mine and I sign my name to it.

The seat is checkable. Decisions are dated, changes are logged, and a one-pager lands every month including what I got wrong.

  1. 01

    Assess

I walk the processes as they actually run, inventory what is already licensed and who uses it, and come back with the ranked list of where AI changes the arithmetic and where it does not. Days, not months.

  2. 02

    Prioritise

One page. The two or three things worth doing, what each costs, what ends this month, and the measure that decides success. You approve it before anything is built.

  3. 03

    Ship

The survivors go into production, in your accounts, with your people trained on them and monitoring in place. Then the monthly work is the next piece, filed with the date it went out.

The full list of what I run.

The AI seat is one of six things I run, and most companies do not need it. If what you actually want is one tool built, hire the build and keep the rest of the money.

If the fix is somewhere I do not work, I will name who does.

06 · CHIEF AI OFFICER COST

What the AI seat costs.

$1,000 a month. Same number as every other service I run, printed here so you never have to ask for it. Two services are $1,799 a month, three are $2,499.

A full operating seat, where I am accountable for the whole function instead of a defined lane, I scope with you on a call. That scope genuinely differs from company to company, which is why it is the one thing here without a printed number.

No setup fee and no onboarding fee. I do not bill by the hour, because an hourly seat pays for attendance instead of decisions. Model usage and licences are billed by the vendor straight to you.

Three months, because nothing real happens faster. If there is no movement by month three, you leave. Month to month after that.

The guarantee is the work and the record. Every decision gets a date, every change is logged, and a one-pager lands every month. That is a promise about what you can see, not about what any model will do next year.

07 · COMMON CHIEF AI OFFICER QUESTIONS

Chief AI officer questions.

What does a Chief AI Officer do?
A chief AI officer decides which AI work a company does, kills the rest, and gets the survivors into production. At your size that is a part-time seat, because the decisions are consequential and there are not forty a week of them.
Is this strategy or does something actually get built?
Both, and the building is the point. A strategy nobody ships is a document, so the seat covers the pick and the production, and the monthly record says which things went live and on what date.
What about our data and our clients' information?
We write the rules before anything runs: what data is allowed near a model, what a human has to approve, and what never leaves your systems. In regulated work that gets written down and you approve it.
Will this replace people on my team?
In my experience it removes the worst part of their week instead of the job. If a role genuinely stops being needed I will say so plainly rather than let you discover it later.
How much does a chief AI officer cost?
$1,000 a month here, $1,799 for two services and $2,499 for three, with no setup fee and no hourly billing. Model usage and licences go straight from the vendor to you so you can see the real running cost.
Who actually does the work?
I do. There is no coordinator between us and no junior inheriting your account, so the person choosing what to build is the person building it.

More of what I run

The rest of the range.

Every lane is scoped and priced the same plain way, and one person runs all of them.
